Hi everyone,
I am pleased to announce that we have a confirmed a Thanksgiving
dinner reservation with the Pfister, a historical Milwaukee hotel. The dinner
will begin at 2:00 pm on November 24th. There will be about an hour of
drinks, appetizers, and socializing at the beginning, and then the dinner part.
The
cost is $49.00 per person.
There is a lower rate for children under 12.
The
Pfister has also offered us a group rate at $139.00 per night for hotel rooms.
There are a few other hotels in the area that can be booked at a slightly lower
rate ($110ish), but I really think that the $139.00 for the Pfister is the best
deal. You will not be able to book at this group rate after October 24, so I
encourage you to book now. All you need to do is call the hotel and say that
you are with the "Janson Family Thanksgiving Group," and they will give you that
rate. Let me know if you have any trouble booking.

Thanksgiving is fast approaching. I am
really looking forward to it!
This is just a reminder that you only have
until about October 24 to make your reservation at the Pfister Hotel, in order

Of course the Thanksgiving dinner is on
Thursday, but I am organizing several other fun Milwaukee activities for Friday
and Saturday, with more details soon to come. If you have already booked a
flight, it would be great if you could tell me the details so that I know when
people are coming and going. Since I do not live in Milwaukee any more it is not
likely that I will have a car with me, but I am happy to help you figure out
transportation to and from the airport if you would like assistance. There is an
Amtrak station at the Milwaukee airport that runs from the airport to downtown
Milwaukee, less than a mile from the hotel. I think that lots of the locals use
it to get to and from the airport, but there are taxis as well.
